Plano is preparing to welcome its first Miyako Hybrid Hotel, with an expected opening scheduled for late 2027. The 12-story boutique property will be located in the Legacy district and represents the first location of the Miyako Hotels & Resorts brand in Texas, as well as only the third in the United States.
Developed by Japan’s Kintetsu Group, the hotel will feature 217 guest rooms, including 11 suites. Among the accommodations is a signature Imperial Suite. The property is designed to blend Japanese craftsmanship with Texas hospitality, incorporating the tradition of omotenashi, which emphasizes thoughtful service.
Amenities planned for the hotel include a traditional Japanese restaurant, a Japanese bakery, and an upscale lobby lounge and bar. A rooftop bar and dining area will offer panoramic views. The hotel will also provide more than 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space for business and leisure travelers.
Plans for the project were first unveiled in 2024. The city of Plano approved economic incentives to support the development, citing the project’s cultural significance and long-term economic impact. Construction began after the ground-breaking ceremony, and developers state the project remains on track for the late 2027 opening.
The hotel aims to strengthen Plano’s existing ties with Japan. The Legacy area already hosts numerous Japanese companies and serves as a hub for international business. Officials and developers view the property as a natural addition to the city’s hospitality landscape, intended to attract both corporate travelers and tourists.
