A Mexican restaurant in Plano is actively recruiting employees after a sudden surge in patrons, a turnaround driven by a social media post from the owner’s teenage daughter.

Sazon De Loa, located on Renner Road, was nearly forced to close last month due to low foot traffic. The situation changed after Leslie De Loa, the 15-year-old daughter of owner Rafael De Loa, posted a video on TikTok asking for support. In the clip, she explained that the family business was struggling to attract customers despite her father’s hard work.

"My family's business needs help," Leslie De Loa said in the video. "We do have a small business here in Plano Texas but we're not getting any attraction at all. I'm here to see if we can get any attraction. My dad has worked very very hard. So please come enjoy some food, some tequila, some Mexican cuisine, and we'll be here waiting for you all."

The video gained significant traction after being shared by TikToker Bucky Wild Child, who has more than 110,000 followers. Wild Child had visited the restaurant earlier in the week and posted about the experience. Following the share, the restaurant saw a massive influx of customers.

Patrons began traveling from near and far to support the business. Customer Jhazmin Martinez said she saw the video and decided to visit for a date night. Another customer, Jesus Martinez, noted the food was delicious.

Many visitors were surprised by the size of the crowd upon arrival. Diego Osorio said he expected a small turnout but found the place packed. He noted that while the wait might exceed an hour, he was willing to stay for the meal. Customer C.J. Nelson agreed, calling the long lines a "good problem" for the owners.

Leslie De Loa expressed amazement at the community response, noting how people took time off their days to visit. Her father, Rafael De Loa, described the event as a miracle. He explained that prior to the viral post, he could not afford to pay waitstaff because there were no tips. Now, he is working approximately 30 hours a day to manage the demand.

The rapid increase in business has created a new challenge: staffing. Rafael De Loa stated that he needs more employees to keep up with the volume of customers. The restaurant is currently hiring for interested applicants.

Details regarding how long this surge in traffic will last or the specific number of new hires needed are not yet clear.
