Kenny's East Coast Pizza has ceased operations at its Plano location, ending a run of approximately ten years in the city. The establishment was situated at 4701 W. Park Blvd., near the intersection with Preston Road, and officially closed in mid-July 2026.
The restaurant opened in August 2016, bringing a style of dining influenced by owner Kenny Bowers' background in Boston. It operated as a casual, family-oriented venue that featured a variety of Italian dishes alongside its primary focus on pizza. The menu included items such as baked ziti, chicken scallopini, meatballs, and Italian chopped salad.
The pizza selection highlighted hand-spun options, including a white alfredo with pesto and a standard pepperoni variety. A popular meat-lovers option, dubbed the Hot Mess, combined sausage, hamburger, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and jalapeños. The restaurant also offered a gluten-free crust option.
A notable feature was the Bada Bing Challenge, which invited patrons to consume a 32-inch, 10,000-calorie pizza. Individuals who attempted the challenge but failed had their photographs displayed on a Wall of Shame.
The specific reasons for the closure are not yet clear. Bowers was not available to provide comment regarding the decision. Social media users expressed disappointment, with some requesting that the chicken wings and gluten-free crust be relocated to a different site.
