Ono Hawaiian BBQ is launching its first Texas location in Plano on July 24, marking the brand's entry into the state after operating for over twenty years in California and Arizona. The new restaurant is situated at 8724 Preston Road and serves as the initial site in a planned series of Texas expansions.
The establishment will serve Hawaiian-inspired plate lunches prepared fresh each day. Standard offerings include two scoops of rice and macaroni salad alongside various protein choices. The menu features BBQ chicken, BBQ beef, kalbi short ribs, island fire chicken, chicken katsu, seafood options, and spam musubi. A drive-thru lane is included to accommodate customers seeking made-to-order meals without dining in.
Joshua Liang, co-founder and chief executive officer of Ono Hawaiian BBQ, stated that Texas has been a target market for the company. He expressed excitement about introducing the brand to Dallas and emphasized the goal of sharing the company's flavors and hospitality with the local community. Liang noted that the brand has maintained a following for more than two decades through quality food and service.
The Plano location is the first of several planned Texas sites as the company continues its national growth strategy. To mark the grand opening on July 24, the restaurant will offer a buy one, get one free deal available throughout the day. This promotion allows customers to sample the menu items during the launch event.
