A multi-vehicle collision at an intersection in Plano resulted in three hospitalizations on Saturday. The Plano Police Department responded to the scene near East Parker Road and Avenue K around 3:15 p.m.

According to law enforcement, a silver Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound at high speed when it crossed the center median into the westbound lanes. The vehicle struck a pedestrian who was standing on the median, causing the person to be thrown into the side of an eastbound car.

The Explorer continued its path in the wrong direction, crossing Avenue K before crashing into five vehicles that were stopped at a red light. Authorities confirmed that seven vehicles sustained damage in the incident, including the SUV involved in the initial median crossing.

Three individuals were transported to a hospital for treatment: the driver of the Explorer, the pedestrian, and another motorist. Their medical conditions were not immediately available. No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. CBS News Texas stated that it will share additional details as they become available.
