Texas authorities have taken into custody three individuals who appeared on the Department of Public Safety’s 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list. The captures occurred in separate multi-agency operations across Houston, Plano, and the Hidalgo border region.
Leroy Lewis Jr., 53, was detained June 22 at a south Houston residence. He faced a Harris County warrant for failing to register as a sex offender and had prior convictions for murder and aggravated kidnapping. Kenneth Wayne Patterson, 64, was arrested June 24 in Plano following a tip. He was wanted on a Dallas County warrant for registration violations and had a 1989 conviction for sexually assaulting a child. Eduardo Quinones Fuentes, 32, was taken into custody June 22 at the McAllen-Hidalgo International Bridge after returning from Mexico. He faced warrants for parole violations and obstruction, with prior convictions including aggravated assault and human smuggling.
According to DPS data, 44 fugitives from the state’s most-wanted lists have been arrested this year, including 32 sex offenders. The agency reported that $61,500 in Crime Stoppers rewards has been distributed in connection with these captures.
