The Texas Department of Public Safety announced the capture of three individuals from its 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list during separate operations across the state. The arrests involved coordination among local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
Leroy Lewis Jr., 53, was taken into custody on June 22 at a residence in south Houston. A multi-agency team including DPS special agents, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Houston Police Department executed the arrest. Lewis had been wanted since March for failing to register as a sex offender. He was previously convicted of murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated kidnapping in the 1990s, receiving a 35-year sentence before parole in 2012.
In Plano, 64-year-old Kenneth Wayne Patterson was arrested on June 24 at an apartment complex following a public tip. Investigators from DPS, Plano police, and the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force made the arrest. Patterson has been wanted since December 2025 for registration violations and was convicted in 1989 of sexually assaulting a child. Texas Crime Stoppers will provide a reward for the information leading to his capture.
Eduardo Quinones Fuentes, 32, was detained on June 22 at the McAllen-Hidalgo International Bridge by U.S. authorities upon his return from Mexico. Wanted since October 2025 for parole and obstruction violations, Fuentes is a documented gang member with prior convictions including aggravated assault and human smuggling.
