Residents and visitors in North Texas have numerous options for weekend activities, with a heavy concentration of Independence Day programming scheduled for July 4. Events span multiple cities in Collin County and nearby areas, offering live music, fireworks, and family-oriented attractions.

In Plano, the city’s annual Fourth of July celebration takes place at the Collin College Spring Creek Campus. The event marks America’s 250th anniversary and includes food trucks, a designated area for children, live entertainment, and a fireworks display. The festivities are held in the college parking lot and the adjacent hillside area. Additionally, Legacy Food Hall in Plano hosts a free party featuring live DJ sets, lawn games, and face painting. Attendees can purchase food and drinks, including items from Son of a Butcher, in the Box Garden.

Frisco offers several major events. Riders Field hosts a patriotic block party with live music, food vendors, a classic car show, and recognition for Hometown Heroes. The evening includes a Frisco RoughRiders baseball game and a fireworks show around 10 p.m. At the PGA District, Grammy-winning artist Darius Rucker performs live, followed by a drone show and fireworks over the fairway. The Star features a viewing of the World Cup knockout stage at Tostitos Championship Plaza, complete with a mini soccer pitch and themed activations. Freedom Fest begins at Kaleidoscope Park with a dog-friendly competition requiring leashed, vaccinated pets, followed by a recurring couples event with wine tastings and lawn games.

Other regional celebrations include Addison Circle Park, which hosts one of the nation’s largest Independence Day events with an air show, fireworks, and townwide watch parties. McKinney kicks off its holiday with a morning parade and block party in historic downtown, followed by an evening concert and fireworks at Towne Lake Park. Dallas’ official celebration occurs at Klyde Warren Park, featuring performances by the Emerald City Band and a fireworks finale over the skyline.

For those seeking extended activities, an immersive Harry Potter screening experience is available at Cosm Dallas in The Colony through July 2. The experience features visuals and environments inspired by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Specific details regarding ticket prices, exact start times for individual performances, or capacity limits for these events are not yet clear.
