North Texas residents have a diverse range of activities available this weekend, spanning live music, seasonal festivals, and local markets. The schedule runs from September 17 through September 20, with events located in Plano, Addison, Frisco, and surrounding areas.
In Plano, the 2026 Balloon Festival takes place at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve from September 17 to 20. The event features more than 35 hot-air balloons, including morning launches and evening glows, alongside live entertainment and family activities. Also in Plano, the Dark Hour Haunted House opens its 2026 season on September 19.
The attraction includes new animatronics, a section called Medusa’s Lair, the Strega Chamber, and a goblin-themed area within the labyrinth.
Addison Circle Park hosts Oktoberfest from September 17 to 20. The four-day celebration includes beer, traditional food, polka music, games, and dachshund events. In McKinney, The Stix Icehouse holds its annual stein-holding contest on September 19, hosted by Altstadt, with rotating beer handles and prizes for participants.
Frisco offers several options for the weekend. The Star’s Tostitos Championship Plaza hosts Flea Style Market on September 19, featuring small businesses selling art, fashion, home décor, and jewelry, accompanied by DJ sets. The Rail District’s 4th Street Plaza hosts a sunrise yoga session on September 19 as part of the Slow Down September wellness series.
Additionally, the Frisco Discovery Center is displaying the Road Trip Across America exhibit, which runs through September 18 and includes a 1915 Ford Model T Roadster. The Frisco Heritage Museum continues its Stories from the Archives exhibit through September 30.
