A Loughing Home Effort Falls Short
The Philadelphia Eagles faced a difficult challenge at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday, October 26, 2026, ultimately succumbing to the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 38-21. Despite playing in front of their home crowd, the Eagles could not contain the offensive firepower of Dallas, which took control early and maintained its lead throughout the contest.
Early Exchange Sets the Tone
Dallas struck first when Brandon Aubrey drilled a 55-yard field goal to make it 3-0. However, Philadelphia responded quickly as Saquon Barkley powered in from eight yards out, giving the home team a 7-3 advantage after one quarter. The Cowboys reclaimed the lead before halftime, driven by Dak Prescott’s precise passing.
CeeDee Lamb caught a nine-yard touchdown pass to make it 10-7 at the end of the first period.
The second quarter saw Dameon Pierce add another Eagles score with a five-yard rush, putting Philadelphia ahead 14-10. But Dallas answered immediately. Prescott connected with George Pickens on a 21-yard strike to retake the lead, 17-14, before Aubrey added a 27-yard field goal to push the margin to 20-14 at the half.
Third Quarter Surge and Fourth Quarter Closure
Philadelphia briefly regained the lead in the third quarter when Makai Lemon caught a four-yard pass from Tanner McKee, making it 21-20. The momentum shifted again as Prescott threw a 16-yard touchdown to Lamb, followed by a two-point conversion run by Prescott himself, extending Dallas’s advantage to 28-21 heading into the final period.
