Residents in Valley View, Texas, are being asked to conserve water following a malfunction at one of the city's water wells. Repairs commenced on Thursday and are anticipated to last one to two days.

Although the reserve water tanks are currently full, city officials are urging residents to limit their water consumption to guarantee adequate supply for household needs, public safety, and emergency services during the repair process.

Restrictions have been put in place, including a ban on watering lawns, landscaping, or gardens, filling swimming pools or hot tubs, washing vehicles unless necessary for public safety, and cleaning paved surfaces. Residents are encouraged to refrain from all non-essential water usage.

Cooke County Emergency Services indicated that while contractors estimate repairs will take one to two days, this timeline may be subject to change. Currently, no boil water notices are expected, but updates will be provided if necessary. Officials stressed that any unnecessary water use could exacerbate the situation, advising residents to remain informed for further developments.

Princeton is about 16 miles northeast of Plano.
