Sportball, a Canadian youth sports company, will open its first corporate-operated location in the United States in Plano this fall. The Dallas-Plano site is set to launch its pilot season on Oct. 10 at Plano Day School, located at 3705 Ohio Drive. Initial offerings include parent-and-child classes for children aged 16 months to 3 years, as well as drop-off sessions for ages 3 to 5.

The company intends to broaden its multi-sport programs and camps to include children up to age 12 in the future.

Unlike the company’s other U.S. sites, which operate as franchises, the Plano location will be managed directly by Sportball. This structure allows the organization to use North Texas as a testing ground for new class formats and experiences. Successful innovations developed at this site could later be introduced across the broader U.S. franchise network.

Quinten Griffiths, Sportball CEO, stated in an official release that establishing a corporate presence in the U.S. signals a long-term commitment to the market. He noted that existing franchises have indicated that families in Texas are seeking developmentally appropriate options that focus on fun, confidence, and skill-building.

Founded more than 30 years ago, Sportball utilizes a multi-sport approach rather than encouraging early specialization in a single discipline. The programs introduce fundamental movement skills to young children in a noncompetitive setting, emphasizing physical literacy and a positive relationship with exercise.

Jason D’Rocha, the company’s Vice President and Growth Coach, said the corporate location provides an opportunity to continue testing new ideas while maintaining a focus on helping children build lasting positive habits around movement.

The initial Dallas-Plano programs will be available at three sites: Liberty Recreation Centre, Plano Day School, and Little Marvels Montessori. Additional locations are planned. This expansion adds to Sportball’s existing franchise footprint in Texas, which includes locations in Austin, Katy, North Houston, and San Antonio East. Registration for the pilot season is currently available through the company.
