Kouchan Ramen, a Japanese restaurant chain known for Hakata-style ramen, is preparing to launch its first location in the United States. The new establishment is scheduled to open in Plano this fall, marking the brand's third international site alongside existing locations in Bangkok and Seoul.
The restaurant will occupy Suite 440 at 4709 W. Parker Road in Plano. While the specific opening date has not been announced, the launch is targeted for the fall of 2026.
The menu centers on tonkotsu ramen, which utilizes a rich broth made from pork bones, paired with ultra-thin noodles. The primary offering, the Signature Tonkotsu, features broth simmered for several hours to create a deep flavor and creamy consistency. It is served with noodles, pork chashu, and fresh green onions. Customers can customize their orders by selecting noodle firmness levels ranging from soft to extra firm and adding extra noodles.
Additional menu items include the God Fire Tonkotsu, which incorporates a special chile oil for a spicier profile, and the Black Garlic Tonkotsu, made with roasted garlic oil that darkens the broth and adds richness. The restaurant will also serve Hakata-style pan-fried gyoza as a side dish, featuring dumplings with a crispy exterior and juicy interior.
