The 98th Annual North Texas Fair & Rodeo is taking place at the North Texas Fairgrounds in Denton from August 21 through August 30. This long-running tradition features rodeo competitions, live country music, carnival rides, and livestock shows. In Frisco, the 49th US Open Pool Championship runs from August 25 to August 30 at the Embassy Suites.
The event brings 256 nine-ball players to compete for a $500,000 prize purse as part of the World Nineball Tour.
Several events are concentrated on August 29. Frisco Football Fest will be held at Rollertown Beerworks, offering marching band performances, live music, and local beer. In Plano, the North American Cryptid Museum is hosting a special evening with Lyle Blackburn, featuring a presentation on the Lake Worth Monster, a catered dinner, and a cash bar.
