Universal Destinations & Experiences officially opened Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, marking the company's debut in the regional theme park sector. The facility is designed specifically for children between the ages of 3 and 8. Frisco is located approximately 12 miles northwest of Plano.
Page Thompson, president of New Ventures for Universal Destinations & Experiences, stated that the park was constructed with a focus on young visitors. She noted that the design aims to generate enjoyment for families visiting the new destination.
The park is organized into seven distinct zones featuring characters from various franchises. These areas include DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom. Additional zones feature Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, and DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar. The Isle of Curiosity area highlights DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse.
Accommodations are available on-site through a 300-room hotel situated at the park entrance. Each room can accommodate up to six guests. The property offers various amenities and dining choices for families.
Admission pricing starts at $54.99 for a one-day general ticket. A two-day general admission pass costs $73.99. Guests can purchase packages that include a Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cup for $69.99 for one day or $101.99 for two days. Additional experiences include the Troll-ify Me! transformation service for $25 per person and a Private VIP Experience for $999.99 per person, which provides a four-hour guided tour with priority access.
