Angela Stanford is returning to TCU as an assistant coach for the university’s women’s golf program. Stanford is from Saginaw, which is about 15 miles from Fort Worth.
She played for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000 and earned All-American recognition four times. Stanford remains the only player in TCU women’s golf history to receive that honor four times, and her 10 career victories are still a school record.
Head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said the program was thrilled to bring Stanford back as its third coach. Ravaioli-Larkin pointed to Stanford’s major-championship background and her work leading the U.S. team at the Solheim Cup. Stanford’s hiring followed her recent stint as captain of the U.S. Solheim Cup team. TCU did not provide additional details about Stanford’s duties.
