Baylor defensive lineman Devonte Tezino will miss the rest of the football season because of a leg injury suffered against Prairie View A&M, coach Dave Aranda confirmed after the game. “We lose him for the season,” Aranda said.
Tezino was injured on Baylor’s second offensive play from scrimmage when a Prairie View A&M offensive lineman used a cut block. Tezino called for medical personnel immediately and was later taken from the field by cart.
The fifth-year senior from Killeen had opened the season with two sacks against Auburn. He also deflected a pass in that game that resulted in an interception, according to SicEm365.
Tezino played in all 12 games last season and started seven of them despite dealing with injuries. He recorded 24 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one pass breakup that year. Across 29 games at Baylor, he has made 56 tackles.
