The Houston Texans worked out linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. as they look for depth after Henry To'oTo'o suffered a shoulder injury. Murray visited the team Tuesday but did not sign a contract, according to reports.
To'oTo'o was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months. Houston also promoted Jamal Hill from its practice squad, while Murray could potentially provide another option for the roster if the team signs him.
Murray was a first-team All-American at Oklahoma before the Los Angeles Chargers selected him 23rd overall in 2020. He later joined the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and led that team in tackles.
The 27-year-old spent last season with the Dallas Cowboys after Tennessee traded him to Dallas for two draft picks. He started all 16 games and ranked second on the Cowboys with 81 tackles. His season also included four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one sack and a fumble recovery.
Murray has also worked out for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants since the start of the offseason. The Texans are scheduled to play the Cincinnati Bengals at Reliant Stadium on Sunday, with kickoff set for noon on CBS.
