Henry To'oTo'o will be sidelined for an undetermined period after injuring his shoulder during the Texans' season-opening loss to Buffalo, coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday. The team has not decided whether to place its starting linebacker on injured reserve.
To'oTo'o was hurt with 2:34 remaining in the fourth quarter of Houston's 36-31 defeat. He sustained the injury while tackling Bills tight end Dawson Knox, needed help to stand, went to the sideline and did not return.
Ryans said the Texans have not reached a decision on the roster designation. “We'll see. We haven't made a decision yet, but we'll see how that goes,” he said.
Houston allowed 36 points in the game, the second-highest total surrendered during Ryans' tenure. The Texans gave up 37 points to Tampa Bay in 2023, and Sunday's result marked their first game allowing more than 30 points since a 31-point loss to Baltimore on Christmas in 2024.
