Golf enthusiasts can follow the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s invitational tournament at PGA Frisco’s Fields Ranch East Course from September 14 to 16. The competition features teams from HBCUs and U.S. Military Service Academies, utilizing both stroke and match play formats.
In Frisco, the newly completed 4th Street Plaza will host live music from local musicians on September 16. The $18.7 million development includes an amphitheater-style green space, covered walkways, and gateway monuments. Meanwhile, Plano’s Legacy Hall will host The Bellamy Brothers on September 17, where the country duo will perform hits spanning five decades of their career.
Community and cultural events are also prominent this week. North Texas Giving Day, organized by the Communities Foundation of Texas, takes place on September 17. In its 18th year, the initiative has raised $712 million since its founding, with all donations directed to local nonprofits. In 2025, over 100,000 donors contributed $78 million to more than 3,500 organizations.
Seasonal attractions include the German festival at Addison Circle Park in Addison, running from September 17 to 20. The event features traditional food, polka music, and family activities. Concurrently, Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve in Plano hosts its annual hot-air balloon festival during the same dates, showcasing more than 35 balloons with morning launches and evening glows.
