Angels Offense Explodes

The Texas Rangers suffered a lopsided 13-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday at Globe Life Field. The visiting Angels overwhelmed the home team from the outset, with their offense generating runs in every inning except the second and third. The final tally left the Rangers (46-46) struggling to contain Los Angeles (37-56), who improved their record with the comprehensive victory.

Early Runs and Adell's Power

Los Angeles took control early, breaking the deadlock in the top of the first inning. Grissom singled to left field, allowing Neto to cross the plate for a 1-0 lead. The Angels doubled their advantage in the fourth inning when Adell homered to right field, measuring 359 feet. The blast drove in Grissom as well, extending the score to 3-0.

Adell continued his dominant performance in the fifth inning. After Grissom singled to left to bring Neto home for a 4-0 count, Adell connected again. His second home run of the night traveled 433 feet to center field, scoring both Trout and Grissom in a three-run expansion that made it 7-0.

Grissom Drives In Runs, Trout Joins Party

The Angels' rally did not slow down. In the sixth inning, Grissom doubled to right field, bringing Lowe and Neto home to push the margin to 9-0. Trout added to the scoring in the eighth inning with a home run to left-center field, 438 feet away. The shot scored Lowe, making it 11-0.

The Rangers managed to get on the board in the eighth inning when Higashioka homered to left-center field, 389 feet, for a solo shot that made the score 11-1. Higashioka also contributed to the pitching effort, pitching the ninth inning and allowing two hits and two earned runs.

Late Inning Scoring and Pitching Notes

Los Angeles added two more runs in the ninth inning. Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Adell, before Siri singled to left to bring Guzman home, finalizing the 13-1 score.

MacKenzie Gore took the loss for Texas, pitching five innings and allowing nine hits and seven earned runs while striking out seven batters. He was joined in the rotation by Gavin Collyer, Ben Peoples, and Robby Ahlstrom, who combined for three innings, allowing five more runs. Kyle Higashioka closed out the game for the Rangers with one inning of work.

For the Angels, Walbert Urena started, pitching four innings with five walks and three strikeouts. Samy Natera Jr. earned the win with two scoreless innings and five strikeouts.
